SECTION 01 — COMPANY HISTORY

Built on engineering discipline

TorsionCore was founded in 1987 with a single focus: manufacturing hollow door cores to tighter tolerances than the industry standard. From the beginning, the company invested in precision cell-forming equipment and rigorous in-process quality control rather than competing on price alone.

Over nearly four decades, that focus has expanded into a full product line covering standard, acoustic, and fire-rated cores — each developed in response to specific performance requirements from door manufacturers, architects, and building code demands.

Today TorsionCore operates from a 120,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and supplies hollow door cores to commercial door manufacturers, millwork shops, and specialty fabricators across North America. All products are manufactured and tested in-house.

1987

Founded

TorsionCore established as a specialty hollow core manufacturer serving the Pacific Northwest.

1994

ANSI Certification

Achieved ANSI/WDMA I.S.1A certification across all standard product lines.

2003

Fire-Rated Line

Launched TC-FRC series following UL 10C positive pressure listing.

2011

Acoustic Series

Introduced TC-ACS dense-matrix acoustic core after three years of R&D and ASTM E90 testing.

2018

Capacity Expansion

Expanded manufacturing floor to 120,000 sq ft, doubling production capacity.

2024

Rev. 4 Standards

Released updated engineering documentation and tightened dimensional tolerances across all product lines.

SECTION 02 — MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES

What we manufacture

CAP-01

Precision Cell Manufacturing

Automated cell-forming lines hold ± 1/32" dimensional tolerances across all nominal thicknesses. Cell geometry is verified at every production stage.

CAP-02

Face Bonding

PVA Type I and Type II adhesive bonding lines calibrated to ASTM D3110. Fire-rated assemblies use Type I exclusively.

CAP-03

Acoustic Engineering

In-house acoustic lab for STC and OITC measurement. Dense-matrix cell configurations developed and validated against ASTM E90.

CAP-04

Fire-Rated Assembly

Dedicated fire-rated production line. UL Listed file maintained with annual follow-up inspections. Positive pressure tested to UL 10C.

CAP-05

Custom Profiles

Non-standard widths, heights, and thicknesses available on request. Engineering team works directly with door manufacturers on custom specifications.

CAP-06

Quality Assurance

Every production run sampled and tested against dimensional, density, and bonding specifications before shipment. Full traceability maintained.

SECTION 03 — QUALITY STANDARDS

Certified to specification

Every TorsionCore product line is manufactured and tested against published industry standards. Certifications are maintained through ongoing production audits, third-party testing, and annual UL follow-up inspections.

Full test reports, CAD drawings, and certification documentation are available on request for architects, specifiers, and code compliance review.
